Out and about continued

Mon. 7/29

I was woken up by the roar of the engine, and I knew that Clifford and Teara were already awake getting ready to haul in the crab pots.  It was quite a display of seamanship as they worked as a team, with Clifford steering the boat to each location, and Teara hauling up the pots and Clifford coming back to assist in throwing the crabs into the hold of the ship.  Then again steering the boat to the spots where Teara threw the pots back in hoping to return another day for another haul. We had the opportunity of eating fresh crab meat right out of the bucket. Then  we had a delicious brunch of crab melts, fresh as you can get them.

We then went to a spot where we could watch bears, and saw a mother and her cub.  We're just assuming it was a mother because there were some kayakers on the shore, and the mother got up on her hind legs and made a jesture to try to warn them off.

Then we saw some eagles and Tracy got a great shot of one that caught a fish and dragged it into the woods to do what ever eagles do to fish they catch.

I would like to take the time to give credit to Tracy for providing the fabulous pictures in this blog. I couldn't have done it without her, but then again I also couldn't have done a lot of things without her loyalty and help.

That night as we anchored in Windfall Harbor, a seal poked it's head out of the water to check on who was invading his harbor.  We must have passed his test because when he went under for the second time, we never saw him again.

This time we settled (if that's not a misnomer, I don't what is) for a dinner of steak and fresh shrimp.  Anyone who thinks that Clifford doesn't know how to eat has got another think coming. They don't starve while their out on their runs.
