Back in Seattle

Mon. 8/12 - Wed 8/14

We are staying with long time friends Steve and Mary Clare Kersten, who live on Bainbridge Island outside of Seattle.  Since we had a very late dinner the night before, we didn't get too early a start, but we had a delightful time just exploring Bainbridge.

Sadly, again, it was time to leave.  So we bid a fond farewell to Steve and Mary Clare, who went out of their way to extend great hospitality.  But we all promised to get together before another 16 years went by.

So it was on to Seattle so Tracy could visit her professor of long ago, Bruce Baillie, who is living on Camano Island, but was her professor when she went to Bard.

Our last visit was with Tracy's cousin and an old golfing buddy of mine, Mark Arnold.  He has two dollars, of mine, framed, hanging on his wall which he won in a hard fought match we had long ago on Nantucket.  I have vowed to win them back sometime in the future, and with my handicap so high it looks like I may have a chance.

Now for the really hard part, the closing of this blog.  We took off from Seattle at 6:00 AM and landed at EWR at 5:30 PM, but don't feel too sorry for us as we traded in miles for First Class tickets.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our excellent vacation and we miss everyone already.  One more thanks to the contributing photographer Tracy, because without her pictures this blog would have been pretty boring.

  3. We were so glad that you took the time out of your GLORIOUS vacation to come and see us! It was great having you and Tracy here, and sharing some laughs just like in the old days. Our friendship runs deep and time doesn't affect us at all. I only wish we had more time so we could at least have gotten a round of golf in. Next time! Make it soon! All the best, love, Steve and Mary Clare
